Riverside is a suburb of Launceston, Tasmania Australia, located in the West Tamar and is part of the West Tamar Council. It's located about 4 km north of the CBD. Riverside is a part of the Greater Launceston Area, although not the local government area.

In a small city with a relatively scattered population, Riverside had a population of 5,760 in 2006 being the largest in Launceston.

The West Tamar Highway is a highway that runs right up the West Tamar, and also runs through Riverside. There are several schools (Riverside Primary School, Riverside High School, Launceston Christian School and St Anthony's) as well as an Aussie rules football ground named Windsor Park which is home to the Launceston Football Club, a soccer ground which is home to Riverside Olympic, the park also includes a cricket ground for senior players and also a junior ground used mainly by under 12 and under 14 sides, all along the course of the highway.

Along the road there is a doctor’s surgery and a small shopping centre built for $2 million in the 1980's, the centre includes a supermarket, bakery and pharmacy.

Less than a 1 km further north there is a small complex, whose main tenant is Joes IGA supermarket, it is a small supermarket which also sells fish and chips, there is also a video store and Beauty Plus. Over the road is a restaurant, pub and bottle shop, as well as a 3.5 star Best Western Riverside motel.

Riverside offers a wide range of buildings, with older brick and weatherboard style homes prominent along the West Tamar Highway and area's closer to the city, while more modern homes are located in the western and northern areas.
