History
It was built by the architect John Loughborough Pearson between 1892 and 1896 at a cost of £26,000. The spire rises to a height of 150ft.

There are eight bells in the tower cast by Mears and Stainbank in London in 1897.
Organ
The organ was built by Augustus Gern in 1896 in the french style.
