London, England, United Kingdom, population 7,355,400 in 2006 claims to be the most ethnically diverse city on earth, with over 300 languages spoken in it and more than 50 non-indigenous communities which have a population of more than 10,000 being in the city. Chinese people constitute the fourth largest Asian group in London (behind the Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis respectively), numbering 111,500 in 2006 they are spread more or less across the entire city and have become extremely successful in British life, especially when it comes to cuisine. There is a long and complex history of the Chinese in London, with ther first Chinese people arriving in the city in the 19th century as sailors. See here for more information.

Colombians

Colombian people have only recently begun to emmerge in the city, but now number an estimated 90,000 - 130,000 (1.6% of London's population). [ [http://www.untoldlondon.org.uk/news/ART40460.html Colombians in London] ] They form the second largest Hispanic group in the British capital, behind the Spanish themselves, and are found predominantly in the Southern London Boroughs including Elephant and Castle and Southwark, where there are significant numbers of Hispanic and Latin American stores and restaurants, and Spanish prevails as the second most common language in the areas behind English. Famous Colombians asscosiated with London include: Sonia Uribe, Carolina Herrera, Jorge Castano, Phil Manzanera and Gloria Gomez.

Brazilians

Today London is home to a significant Brazilian community, which is largely concentrated around Bayswater (which is often nicknamed Braziliswater by Brazilians and other ethnic groups alike) [http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/content/articles/2005/05/27/brazilian_london_feature.shtml Brazilian London] ] , although there are many other communities throughout the city including Notting Hill, Brixton and Dollis Hill. Around 60,000 Brazilians call London home (around 1 in 4 Brazilians in the UK). Brazilians have existed in London since the 1970s, the majority whom have come to London for work or to study, but have found themselves staying attracted to the cosmopolitan and diverse lifestyle the city offers. English has replaced French as the secondary language of Brazil and many professional Brazilians emigrate to the UK where better facilities and training is available. Famous Brazilians asscosiated with London include: Roger Gracie, Christianne Oliveira, Taio Cruz, Cleo Rocos and the wrongly suspected terrorist, Jean Charles de Menezes.

Indians

Indians have long been London's single largest ethnic minority group and in 2006 almost 500,000 Indians were residing in London (this excludes people of half or less Indian origin). Around 7% of London's population is of Indian origin. Indians have existed in the British capital for generations and come from all walks of life.
