qutIM is a cross-platform open source icq client, licensed under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Project began at January 2008 and is under development. Main goal is to create fast and user friendly ICQ client. The programm is written in C++ with Qt 4.3. There are official builds for Windows and MacOS X. qutIM uses Subversion as version control system.

The great deal of features has been excluded, not directly connected with receiving or sending messages, such as: emoticons, sending/receiving files, sending typing notifications (receiving has been kept), localizations, not-tab mode of chat window. The fork doesn't suppose appearance supporting of plugin system and multiprotocoling. Instead of qutIM, k8qutim uses git as version control system.
