Basil Eugster

Lieutenant-General Sir Basil Eugster, KCVO, CB, CBE, DSO, MC (1914–1984) was a British soldier of Swiss [Beat de Fischer, "2000 Ans De Presence Suisse En Angleterre: "L'etonnante epopee Des Suisses D'Outre-Manche, De L'epoque Romaine a La Communaute Europeenne"] descent.

Basil Eugster was commissioned into the Irish Guards and fought with the British Army of the Rhine (BAOR) during World War II.After the war he was appointed Commander of the Household Brigade and General Officer Commanding London District (1965-1968), he was then given command of the British Forces, Hong Kong (1968-?) and eventually became Colonel of the Regiment of the Irish Guards until his death in 1984.
