All Saints Pastoral centre

All Saints Pastoral centre

All Saints was built by Leonard Stokes in 1901 as a convent for the All Saints sisters It was acquired by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Westminster in 1973.

The building has been carefully adapted to modern day meeting requirements but has retained its beauty, charm and tranquility. The main part of the centre is built round a quadrangle garden with an inner cloister leading to the meeting rooms on the ground floor. There is simple, but comfortable, residential accommodation above.

The centre today caters for both residential and non-residential conferences, meetings and retreats mainly from the religious sector.

There is a selection of twelve meeting rooms ranging from small meetings for 6 up to the largest, which will accommodate 150-theatre style, with a comprehensive selection of Audio visual equipment available for hire Most meeting rooms have broadband internet connections.

The Centre also has a Cyber Café where the delegates may keep in touch with the office or home. There is also a dining room, serving a selection of hot and cold meals, and a comfortable bar.

It has good transport links to the diocese through the M25 motorway and Radlett Mainline station being close by.

The Comper Chapel

Attached to All Saints is an example of design by architect Ninian Comper. The first half was completed in 1927. Due to demands for space it was expanded by Ninian's son Sebastian in 1963. In the west end of the Chapel below the Rose window is a Harrison & Harrison organ.

From the roof of the Comper Chapel a panorama streching from Radlett around to St Albans is visible. This is accessed via the bell tower. From the roof the join between the more recent Sebastian and original Ninian chapels can been seen with the use of a cross brace securing the North and South walls.
