Links of Noltland

Links of Noltland is the archaeological site of a Neolithic village near Grobust Bay on the north coast of Westray in Orkney, Scotland.

Excavations at the site (gbmappingsmall|HY428492 [ [http://getamap.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/getamap/frames.htm?mapAction=gaz&gazName=g&gazString=HY4305546328 Ordnance Survey: Get-a map"] Retrieved 12 September 2008.] ) in the 1980s found a Neolithic building. It is now in the care of Historic Scotland who are funding further excavation. One structure has been dated to circa 2000 BC. Finds include polished bone beads, tools and grooved-ware pottery. The full extent of the site is believed to exceed the size of Skara Brae on the Orkney mainland. Nearby are Queen o' Howe broch, The Lum Head chambered tomb and the ruins of Noltland Castle.
