The White-fronted Water Snake ("Amphiesma flavifrons") is a frequently-encountered water snake, seen swimming in rivers in the plains and midhills. Body slender; midbody scales 19, keeled; ventrals 149-157; subcaudals 92-101; dorsum olive-grey, with darker markings; a distinctive white to yellowish-cream spot on snout. Often seen swimming along rivers, with its head held out of water, its diet includes frogs tadpoles and frog eggs. It's reproductive biology remains unknown. this species is known from Brunei, Sahab and Sarawak, and is endemic to Borneo.
