Iceland has confirmed its presence at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 set to be held in Moscow, Russia. öngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2009

The Icelandic national final, Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins 2009, will be held between January and February of 2009. A number of semi-final rounds will be held before a February final, however the number of semi-finals has yet to be disclosed. Artists and songwriters have until 31 October 2008 to submit entries to RÚV.

At Eurovision

After Euroband's 14th place at the 2008 contest, Iceland must go through one of the semi-finals of the 2009 contest.
