History

Manila Xiamen International School (MXIS) is the first international school in Xiamen, China. It was conceptualized by the Manila Xiamen Educational Foundation as a nonprofit, non-stock, fully foreign-owned and independent school guided by a global philosophy of education with the following objectives:

  1. To nurture students to be truly educated individuals with a strong academic foundation, leadership skills, desirable attitudes and values and with a fluency in at least two international languages that will enable them to enter schools either in the eastern or western settings.
  2. To promote international understanding by sponsoring study-tour programs to students and professionals in order for them to gain a deeper appreciation of China and its people.
  3. To support the universal aspiration of families and their dependents to acquire quality education at a minimal cost.

Manila Xiamen International School started its operation in 1993 with a permit from the Ministry of Education of China and from the Philippine Department of Education. It is a co-educational day and boarding school with excellent curricular offerings at pre-school, lower school, middle school, and upper school levels. English is the medium of instruction.
