Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol regional election, 2008

The Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol regional election of 2008 will take place on 26 October 2008.

Province of Trento

Then there are four minor candidates: Agostino Catalano, supported by the Communist Refoundation Party and Democratic Left; Remo Andreotti, for the Democrats for Trentino, a last-minute splinter group from the Democratic Party; Nerio Giovanazzi, a former member of Forza Italia; Gianfranco Valduga, for the Party of Italian Communists.

Province of Bolzano

In the Province of Bolzano the South Tyrolean People's Party (SVP), which has governed the Province for sixty years, will continue to do so, but it is also expected a rise in term of votes of The Libertarians, Union for South Tyrol and Lega Nord Sud Tirolo. The last party could form an alliance with SVP.
