Sociedad Deportiva Amorebieta (SDA, in English, "Sporting Society Amorebieta") is an Spanish football team from Amorebieta-Etxano, Basque Country. It was founded on January 4, 1925. For the 2008-09 season, they will play in Tercera División.

History

The club was formed from the Sociedad Deportiva Beti-Arin (founded on December 2, 1923). In 1925 the "zornotzarra" club, with other 21 clubs in Biscay, was joined at the Biscayan Football Federation (FVF, by its initials in Spanish).

In the 1926-27 season, the "zornotzarra" club made an outstanding campaign in his second competitive year. It had as its main rival to FBC Durango, who snatched the top spot after a tiebreaker match, as they had finished the tournament tied at 14 points (Elorrio gets 8 points, Lemona get 4 points, while those Usansolo did not get a point). Despite being relegated to the 2nd position, and while it was Durango the team was disputed that the final phase, the 2nd place allowed the SD Amorebieta sign the first ascent of its history, rising one step inside the Biscayan Regional category to play, in the next year, on the "C" Preferente" division.

On the 1962-63 season, the "SDA" plays in the Spanish Amateur Championship semifinals against the subsidiary team of the Real Madrid. In the first leg played in Vallecas, the meringues won 2-0. Then, back in the match played in the field of the SD Amorebieta, the result was a tie at 2 goals which eliminated the biscayan team of the competition.

In the 1980-81 season, the team was in the second position of the league (Preferente), should play the promotion in a double final match. The rival would be the Mondragón CF, who won 4-3 in the first leg, so the SD Amorebieta needed a difference of 2 goals for promotion.

The result of the second leg was a 2-0. This result sending the club for the first time in its history to Third Division, which is in the category since then.
