"Il costume di casa" ("Faith In Fakes") was originally an essay written in 1975 by the Italian semiotician Umberto Eco, about "America's obsession with simulacra and counterfeit reality" [http://www.themodernword.com/eco/eco_faq.html] , later incorporated as the centrepiece of a collection of articles and essays bearing the same name. It was translated into English in 1986 as "Faith In Fakes" [ [http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=3vxCAAAACAAJ Faith in Fakes at Google Books] ] and later updated as "Travels In Hyperreality" [ [http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=YfBrAAAACAAJ Faith in Fakes: Travels in Hyperreality at Google Books] ] in 1995 [Eco, U., "Faith In Fakes: Travels In Hyperreality", Picador 1987, ISBN 978-0330296670] .
