Ballyhide is a village in County Laois, Ireland, and is part of the Graiguecullen and Killeshin parish.

It is a rural area containing rural housing estates probely the main part of ballyhide is at the border to Crossneen and is just near the barrow. It also contains a ruins of church and a old landlord mansion. Ballyhide is about 3 miles from Carlow town. There are two rivers in the area, River Barrow and the River Fishoge. Although there is evidence of tunnels from the mansion we know the tunnel is unaccessable as it has caved in long ago.

History of the house getting burnt down was an eviction of a family due to the mother and the fathers death from no food our shelter. The sons took revenge and attacked the mansion kidnapping the landlord and his two sons. Ballyhide is a small quiet place with a employment nearby. (factory just 10 mins away which is limeworks). Ballyhide attracts people who enjoy fishing as it's a good fishing spot. There are two islands on the river which can be accessed by lockgates.
