Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act of 2005

The Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act of 2005 was legislation in the United States Senate (bill number S. 193) that increased penalties for broadcasters who violate FCC decency standards.

The bill was sponsored by Sen. Sam Brownback, Republican of Kansas.

On June 15, 2006, the bill became Public Law No. 109-235 and was signed by the president.
