Free Voters

Free Voters

Free Voters ("Freie Wähler", FW) is a German concept where an association of individuals participates in an election without having the status of a registered political party. Usually it's a locally organized group of voters in the form of a registered association (eV).

Free Voter groups are active in all German states, and the one in Bavaria is particularly successful. In 2008 Bavaria state election FW obtained 10.2% of the vote and made its first entrance to the Landtag.
