Šárka Kašpárková

Šárka Kašpárková (pronounced|ˈʃaːrka ˈkaʃpaːrkovaː) (born May 20, 1971 in Karviná) is a Czech athlete, competing in the 100 m hurdles, high, long, and triple jumps. The 1.86m tall 36-year-old is currently a sports instructor.

Kašpárková started her professional athletics career as a high jumper. She won the bronze medal in the European Athletics Junior Championships and participated in the 1992 Olympics. When the female triple jump was introduced to the IAAF competitions, she moved to this discipline as one of the first competitors. In triple jump she was third in the 1996 Olympics and in 1997 she won the World Championships . She is married to her coach Michal Pogány, and they have a daughter, Tereza.
