Blush Response is an Indie Rock band with varied influences based in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Singer and guitarist Jesse Willard met multi-instrumentalist Isaac Pineda and immediately shared a mutual love for music. After discovering bassist Merrick Beatty and having no luck finding drummers in the surrounding area, Pineda decided to switch to drums from guitar/keyboards and the group began to refine their style. Most recently, they have placed an emphasis on sound density by using a multitude of effect pedals, loops, and employing a strong sense of dynamics. This reached a new height when guitarist/keyboardist Shane Bellotti was soon added to complete the lineup.

The band is currently rehearsing/writing/recording their debut "Lift me up on angels wings".

Influences

The band is hard to pin down as far as musical genres, but they seem to lean towards the dense-yet-melodic dream pop of My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive, the off-beat and calculated noise of Slint and Sonic Youth, and the psychedelic infused art-rock of a younger Smashing Pumpkins among others. Their catalog of songs include sudden shifts of timing, key, and their structures, while typically unconventional, retain a keen sense of pop songwriting. The influence of retro-futurism in literature, pop culture, and movies is also subtly hinted at through Willard's lyrics.

The Blush Response

The Blush Response is a now defunct synth pop band hailing from Los Angeles, California, with no relation to the aforementioned Orlando band. They are best known as the band that split from Brandon Flowers in 2001 when he declined to relocate to Los Angeles with them. Flowers did not sing for the band - instead he played the keyboard. Flowers went on to be one of the founding members of The Killers. The Blush Response is featured on the Various Artist collection "Electricity - An Electropop Sampler" on Ninthwave Records under the name Subversion with a song called "The Victim." It is not known if Flowers was a member at the time of this recording.

Vangelis - Blush Response

Blush Response is a track featured on the Blade Runner soundtrack, composed by Vangelis, for the film Blade Runner. In the film, suspected replicants were examined by a Voight-Kampff machine, which measured empathetic, physical, and emotional reactions. The test subject's ability (or inability) to have a proper blush response was one reaction. Orlando band Blush Response derives at least part of the inspiration for their band name from this movie.
