The Palace of the Secretariat of Communications and Public Works is a monumental building in Mexico City of eclectic style, built at the early XX century over the space previously occupated by the Hospital de Sán Andrés of Mexico City.
It is located on Tacuba street, on Mexico City's historical center. The palace was ordered to be built by President Porfirio Diaz, on 1904, under Italian Architect Silvio Contri. This palace, along with many other buildings built during Diaz's regime, was inteded by Diaz to show the world the progress Mexico had achieved at the time.
The palace was then assigned to house the then-Secretariat of Public Works. It now hosts the National Museum of Art, or MUNAL.
