John Knight (April 30, 1871 Arcade, Wyoming County, New York - June 15, 1955) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. He was President pro tempore of the New York State Senate from 1925 to 1931.

Life

He was District Attorney of Wyoming County from 1904 to 1912.

He was a Republican member from Wyoming County of the New York State Assembly from 1913 to 1916. He was a member of the New York State Senate from 1917 to 1931, and was President pro tempore from 1925 to 1931. He was an alternate delegate to the 1924 Republican National Convention and a delegate to the 1928 Republican National Convention.

On March 30, 1931, he was appointed Federal Judge for the Western Disctrict of New York. He died in office in 1955.
