Alison Turriff born August 10, 1984 in Lanark, Scotland is a Scottish clarinettist.

Biography

----

Alison Turriff started to learn the clarinet at the age of 16, what in the world of classical music is being perceived as a very late start. Due to her amazing talent and hard work Alison was offered a place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Wales. Alison received guidance and intensive teaching from Leslie Craven - the principal clarinetist of the Welsh National Opera Orchestra. Alison spent six months in Spain studying under the lead of Joan Enric Lluna, one of the top clarinettists in the world. Currently Alison is finishing her Masters Degree studying at Trinity College of Music in London.

Glasgow Music Festival 2008

----In March 2008 Alison Turriff took part in the Glasgow Music Festival with great success - winning: the Glasgow Music Festival Association Award, Ailie Cullen Memorial Prize and the John Fyfe Trophy. Because of her amazing performance Alison had been invited to perform in the Glasgow University Recital Series in October 2008.

St. John's, Smith Square

----Due to her involvement in researching and playing Polish pieces Alison was invited to perform "Quatuor pour la naissance" with maestro Zygmunt Krauze and Tansman's "Clarinet Concerto" with The Alvarez Chamber Orchestra on the 16th November 2008 in St. John's, Smith Square in London. Both of the above performances are a part of "the Northern Ayres: an Anglo-Polish Celebration".
