Lisbon Regicide

The Lisbon Regicide of 1908, was the regicide of Carlos I of Portugal by Alfredo Costa and Manuel Buiça, both connected to the Carbonária (the Portuguese section of the Carbonari). This event precipitated the October 5th revolution in 1910, that brought an end to the Portuguese monarchy and the beginning of the Portuguese First Republic.
