The Puerto Rico gubernatorial election of 2008, will take place on November 4, 2008.

Incumbent governor Aníbal Acevedo Vilá is eligible for reelection, and is running for a second four-year term. Vilá is facing a tough reelection campaign due to an indictment in March 2008 for alleged conspiracy to illegally raise money to pay off Acevedo's campaign debts in 2000cite news| first=Manuel| middle=Ernesto| last=Rivera| title=Puerto Rican Governor Faces 19 Counts| work=| publisher=Associated Press| page=| date=March 27, 2008| accessdate=2007-03-27] and the fallout from the 2006 Puerto Rico budget crisis. His closest opponent is Luis Fortuño, the current Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico.
