The Ingersoll Lectures is the name given to an annual series of lectures presented at the
University of Harvard on the subject ofimmortality .Endowment
"The Ingersoll Lectureship" was founded as a result of a bequest by Miss Caroline Haskell Ingersoll, who died in 1893, leaving the sum of 5000 dollars for the institution of a series of lectures to be read annually in memory of her father, George Goldthwait Ingersoll. The lectures were to take place at the
University of Harvard , on the subject of "the immortality of man".
