Buky Schwartz

Buky Schwartz (born 1932) (pronounced BOO-kie) is an Israeli sculptor and video artist. He was born in Jerusalem and studied sculpture with Yitzhak Danziger (1916-1977) at the Avni Art Institute in Tel Aviv from 1956 to 1958. He moved to London in 1959, where he studied at the St. Martin's School of Art from 1959 to 1962. After returning to Israel in 1963, he created severely geometrical painted steel sculptures. In 1971, he moved to New York City, and began incorporating videos into his large constructions. He lives and works in Tel Aviv and New York
