Ronald James Milner

The Rt Rev Ronald James Milner was the Bishop of Burnley [ [http://www.burnley.gov.uk/site/scripts/news_article.php?newsID=12573 Wife’s bequest to area] ] from 1988 until 1993 [”Debrett's People of Today 1992” (London, Debrett's) ISBN 1870520092)] . He was born on 16 May 1927 and educated at Hull Grammar School and Pembroke College, Cambridge [”Who's Who1992 “(London, A & C Black ISBN 0713635142)] before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with the post of Succentor at Coventry Cathedral, after which he was Vicar of Westwood [“Crockford's clerical directory, 1995” (Lambeth,Church House ISBN 0715180886)] . Following this he was Rector of St Mary's, Southampton and then (his final appointment before elevation to the Episcopate) Archdeacon of Lincoln. In retirement he continues to serve the Church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
