Deer Park High School, located in Deer Park, Texas, is a high school serving 3,780 students from grades 9-12 and is a part of the Deer Park Independent School District. The school consists of two separate campuses: Deer Park High School North Campus and Deer Park High School South Campus.

The high school is fed by four junior high schools: Bonnette Junior High, Deepwater Junior High, Deer Park Junior High, and Fairmont Junior High.

Notable alumni

It is known for its baseball program, which has produced alumni Andy Pettitte, Donnie Elliott, Duane Walker and Balor Moore. Other famous alumni include 1995 Miss Universe winner Chelsi Smith, William P. Felkins (USAF MSGT retired),Andrew McKinney (USMC), Jimbo Wallace, bassist for the band The Reverend Horton Heat, comedian Ron White, and all four members of the punk rock band Down the Drain: David Raffetto (vocals, rhythm guitar), Adam Brunson (lead guitar), Brian Dodd (bass), and Kyle Smith (drums), Arthur Sauceda 1994 alumnis was NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) division 4 rookie of year winner, And Don R. MitchellTexas Aggie Track letterman from (1949-1952) dubbed "The fastest man from Deer Park".

New Construction 2007

During the end of the 2007 school year, Deer Park High School began remodeling the campus to better serve the student population.

News Article

In 2008, USA Today cited Deer Park High School in a study about schools being exposed to toxic emissions from factories. The article said that the school's proximity to oil refineries along the Houston Ship Channel threatened its students with high levels of 1,3-Butadiene and other harmful gases.[1]
