Galieva is also the daughter of Kazakh violinist Marat Bisengaliev.[1]
Background and early career
Galieva was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, to Virtuoso Violinist Marat Bisengaliev and Flautist Stina Wilson.
She started performing professionally in 2003 at the age of 11 when she featured as the solo soprano in Karl Jenkins 'Adiemus', which she performed throughout England, Japan, and Kazakhstan, and aired throughout the former soviet union.
She then went onto to record an album 'Tlep' for Karl Jenkins which she premiered as the solo soprano at the Royal Albert Hall at the age of 13 in 2005. She continued to tour as a soloist with Marat Bisengaliev and the West Kazakhstan Philharmonic Orchestra. It was during 'Tlep' she met saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock, whom she recorded 'Memories Of The Heart' for as a soloist which is currently unreleased.
In late 2005 she performed Karl Jenkins most famous work 'Adiemus' as the solo soprano at the Canterbury Cathedral at the age of 14.
She was offered a place at the National Youth Theatre in London where she was trained by Amy Leach and Victoria Gould, and studied alongside actor Thomas James Longley.
She graduated from the National Youth Theatre in 2009.
Further work
In October 2010, Galieva appeared as the feature soprano in a production of The Armed Man - a Mass for Peace at the Southbank Centre in the West End with The Philarmonia Orchestra.[2]
