Chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania

The Party Chairman (Albanian: Kryetari i Partisë), sometimes translated as president, is the leader of the Socialist Party of Albania. The position was created in 1991 with the introduction of a multiparty system in Albania as part of reforms that included the renaming of the party from the Party of Labour of Albania. The chairman replaced the position of the secretary general. Former Prime Minister Fatos Nano held the position from 1991 to 2005. The current chairman is Edi Rama, Mayor of Tirana.
