Charles Phipps Brutton (20 January 1899 – 11 May 1964) was an amateur English cricketer. Brutton was a right-handed batsman.

Brutton made his first-class debut for Hampshire in 1921 against Lancashire. From 1921 to 1930 Brutton would play in 81 first-class matches for the club. Brutton's final first-class appearance came in June during the 1930 County Championship against Yorkshire. In his 81 first-class matches for Hampshire, Brutton scored 2,052 runs at an average of 17.84. Brutton made eight half-centuries and one century, which yielded his highest score of 119*. He also played a single first-class appearance for the Gentlemen in the Gentlemen v Players fixture of 1927.

In 1934, Brutton made two Minor Counties Championship appearances for Cheshire against a Lancashire Second XI and Denbighshire. In 1935, he joined Denbighshire, representing them in two Minor Counties Championship matches against Durham and Northumberland. From 1937 to 1938, Brutton represented Dorset. He made one appearance against Devon in 1937 and two appearances in 1938 against Wiltshire and Devon. After the 1938 English cricket season Brutton retired from representative cricket.

Brutton died in Ticehurst House, Sussex on 11 May 1964 after a long illness.

Family

Brutton's father Septimus Brutton represented Hampshire in a single first-class match in 1904. His uncle Ernest Brutton played in two first-class matches.
