Derek Bond (bishop)

The Rt Rev (Charles) Derek Bond was the Bishop of Bradwell from 1976 until 1993.[1] He was born on 23 August 1930 [2] and educated at Bournemouth School and King's College London before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with a curacy at St Peter-le-Poer, Friern Barnet.[3] After incumbencies at Harringay and Harrow Weald he was appointed Archdeacon of Colchester [4] before being elevated to the Episcopate. In retirement he continues to serve the Church as an Assistant Bishop – previously within the Diocese of Worcester and currently in the Diocese of Chelmsford.[5]
