Biography

In December 2006, a close personal friend of Chase Coy, Jeanette Wall, created Coy's first official promotional page on MySpace in hopes of establishing a fan-base and furthering Chase's career in the music industry. For the first two years after the creation of the page, Wall administered everything from adding fans to uploading music. Eventually, Chase and Jeanette began working cooperatively, sending out the message about Coy's music. In mid-2007, Coy completed his first CD, Dear Juliet - EP - which contained six songs - and began selling copies through the mail. Shortly after, upon its completion, Coy also began selling Goodbyes and Autumn Skies via mail order. Soon, his fan-base began to climb and today has reached over 100,000 on Myspace alone.[2]

Chase Coy on iTunes

By mid-2008, the number of mail orders became overwhelming, thus forcing Chase to find a new means of selling his music. He decided upon a company called TuneCore, who would put his work on iTunes. The date for the digital release of his first two albums was set for early July, 2008. Within a week of the release on iTunes, his album appeared on the front page of the Folk genre page and his now widely popular song "If The Moon Fell Down" was chosen to be included in the iTunes Essentials playlist Rising Artists: Folk. Both albums later appeared on the "Top 100 Folk Albums" chart where they remained for months. Since its release, "If The Moon Fell Down" had not fallen from the top. On November 18, 2008, Chase released his first full length album, "Look How Far We've Come". It also appeared on the "Top 100 Folk Albums". By the end of 2008, Chase was chosen as one of the best new Folk artists of 2008 and the song "If The Moon Fell Down" was chosen as one of the top Folk songs of 2008. As of January 2009, Chase had sold well over 15 songs.

Collaboration with Colbie Caillat

In 2010, via Ustream.tv, Chase announced that he would be releasing a duet version of "If The Moon Fell Down" with Grammy Award winning, American pop singer-songwriter and guitarist, Colbie Caillat. It was included on his album Picturesque.
