Chaska Town Course

Chaska Town Course

The Chaska Town Course is an award-winning municipal golf course located in Chaska, Minnesota and was designed by golf course architect Arthur Hills. Chaska Town Course sprawls over 285 acres (1.15 km2) of oak groves, open prairie, and marshlands and is owned and operated by the City of Chaska.

History

Prior to opening in 1997, then Chaska Mayor Bob Roepke emphasized Chaska's commitment to quality golf, "Our vision is that Chaska will be home to both the best private (Hazeltine National) and the best public courses in Minnesota." The St. Paul Pioneer Press in reviewing the Town Course confirmed that commitment, "Chaska has the feel of a Hazeltine spill-over course; ... tough enough to be used in conjunction with the nearby Hazeltine National for some big-time, big-field event that requires more than one course." That vision has become a reality for Chaska as Hazeltine National Golf Club and Chaska Town Course co hosted the National Amputee Tournament in 2003 and U.S. Amateur in 2006. Golf Guide Minnesota's review of the Town Course resulted in headlining it's August 1997 issue with, "Chaska redefines municipal courses."
