Early and personal life

Shavershian was born on 17 January, 1986 in Moscow, Russia to Maiane Iboian, and Sergei Shavershian.[4] He is the older brother of bodybuilder Aziz Shavershian, who died from a heart attack on August 5, 2011.[5]

In 1994 at the age of 8, Shavershian along with his family moved to Sydney, Australia.[6] Residing in the suburb of Eastwood, New South Wales, he attended Catholic secondary school, Marist College Eastwood.[7]

Bodybuilding

At a young age, Shavershian used watch WWF Wrestling, and idiolize "all the wrestlers with their muscles and powerful physiques."[8]

"I was the typical example of an extreme ectomorph and could eat whatever I wanted without ever gaining a kilo of weight. Only a few training sessions later I was instantly hooked into what has become a lifelong passion and love of training."

Said Shavershian on his training.[8]

Prior to becoming a bodybuilder, Shavershian described himself as a "skinny kid" and he was bullied for being the smallest in his class, at secondary school. Phasing out the bullying, he made himself a promise that once he graduated from secondary school and saved up money, he would then invest the money into purchasing a gym membership.[8]

Almost two years after graduating from Marist College Eastwood, Shavershian at the age of 20, joined his local Fitness First gym, in Carlingford, New South Wales. His favourite professional bodybuilders, that inspire him, include: Arnold Schwarzenneger, Frank Zane, Serge Nubret, Tom Platz and Lou Ferrigno [8][2]

Legal troubles

On 14 July, 2011, Shavershian was charged and arrested for being in possession of anabolic steroids, in a Sydney police raid. Among himself, four others were also charged with a simmilar offence. He was granted conditional bail the following week later, on the 31 July.[2]

Three weeks after the arrest, Shavershian representing himself, appeared infront of the Parramatta Local Court on 5 August, where he pleaded guilty to the charge. He told the court that he used steroids after being bullied for his previously small frame. Shavershian was fined $400 and ordered to pay $78 in court costs. Local Court of New South Wales magistrate Jennifer Betts, told him he could look, "a million dollars, without dangerous drugs".[1][7]
