A wrap made with cheese, cucumber, and potato chipsA crisp sandwich (in British English), chip sandwich, chipwich or potato chip sandwich (in North American or Australian English) is a sandwich that includes crisps (potato chips) as one of the fillings..[citation needed] In addition to the crisps, the other ingredients may be peanut butter, meat, cheese, tuna, ham, bologna, tomato, cucumber, or any other common sandwich ingredient. Potato chip sandwiches are sometimes referred to as "trailer park cuisine".[1]
To create a crisp sandwich, a thin layer of overlapping crisps is placed on the sandwich so as to augment, but not overpower, the sandwich's main filling. Another variation of the crisp sandwich is made entirely of bread, mayonnaise and crisps.[1] In place of mayonnaise, salad cream or cream cheese can also be used, especially in the United Kingdom. Wraps may be used instead of conventional bread. A plain crisp sandwich with only bread and crisps is a popular version.
A common sandwich of all dressed chips, relish and pardine(pureed sardines) atop a gently grilled stove top multigrain roll is quite popular in Eagle Place Brantford, Ontario, Canada.[citation needed]
