Chris Brown is an American politician and business person in the state of California.

Background

Brown was born on July 17, 1981 in Los Angeles.[citation needed] He attended Fairfax High School and San Jose State University. At the age of 19, he held jobs with AT&T and Nextel Corporations as the youngest business account executive in the United States.[citation needed] He is married and has one son.

Brown ran for election in March 2011 as a councilman in the 10th District of the Los Angeles City Council.[1][2][3] He placed third of six candidates, attaining 13.69% of the popular vote.[4]

Brown's primary campaign platform was based on a strategy he devised in 2009 to raise up to $210 million with a citywide electronic waste-recycling plan. The plan seeks to generate money to rehire laid-off Los Angeles Unified School District teachers, and served as Brown's primary campaign platform in the 2011 election.[5] Brown's campaign messaging also focused on local links between education and economic recovery.[6] He also founded an organization called Help Educators of America (HEOA) 501(c)3 to assist struggling teachers and there schools with the necessary supplies and financing to run a classroom smoothly to ensure a proper education for our children's future.
