Since the end of 2005, Cinebook has worked to become the premier publisher of "Bandes dessinées" (BD), Franco-Belgian comics, in English in markets dominated by American superhero comics and Japanese manga. By the end of 2009, Cinebook had published 109 books from 32 different series—sold throughout the entire world. In less than four years, Cinebook published twice as many “Lucky Luke” in English as had been done in the past 50 years. Cinebook has started publishing 5 new series in 2010: XIII, "Valerian", "Crusade", "Long John Silver" and "Cinebook Recounts", a historical BD series.
