City of Scars is a 2010 fan film produced by Aaron and Sean Schoenke. The film had a budget of $27,000 and was shot in 21 days.^[1] The 30-minute short film is partly set in Arkham Asylum.^[2]

Plot

The Joker escapes from Arkham Asylum and murders the parents of a young boy. Determined not to let the joker murder anyone else, the Batman goes on a hunt through Gotham. Batman questions whether his crusade against evil does more bad than good. When the young boy kills the Joker with his own gun, Batman debates if his greatest nemesis' death is a step towards Gotham's peace, or rather a sign that things are getting worse.^[3]
