(1993)The Legendary Ray Stevens and Jim Stafford
(1993)Classic Ray Stevens is the twenty-ninth studio album of American country and comedy singer Ray Stevens as well as his third for Curb Records. It was released in June 1993. The album's title might mislead some people to believe that it is a collection of previously recorded songs but it is actually a newly recorded studio album. The album includes the singles "If Ten Percent Is Good Enough for Jesus (It Oughta Be Enough for Uncle Sam)," "The Motel Song," and "Super Cop," all of which unfortunately failed to chart. The front of the album cover spoofs how classical composers are honored; it shows a piano that has the following items sitting on top of it: a violin, a rose, sheet music, an old-fashioned feathered pen in a container of ink, and a statue of the head of Stevens dressed like someone from the period of ca. the 1800s.
