The CODiE awards are annual awards issued by the Software and Information Industry Association for excellence in software development within the software industry.

The CODiE Awards program has attempted to showcase the software and information industry's products and services and to honor excellence for corporate achievement and philanthropic efforts. It is the only peer-recognition awards program of the software industry, providing the opportunity for companies to earn the praise of their competitors.

The name "CODiE" is derived from the word code, meaning the instructions making up a computer program.

History

In 1986, the Excellence in Software Awards program was established by the Software Publishers Association (SPA), now the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), so that the pioneers of the then-nascent software industry could praise each other's work. In 1993, the Excellence in Software Awards became the CODiE Awards.

Past winners include companies such as Adobe, Cision, Jigsaw, Netsuite, Red Hat, Rosetta Stone, Salesforce.com, Triumph Learning, Vocus, WSJ.com and more.
