The Amazon Weasel ("Mustela africana"), or Tropical Weasel, is a South American weasel, which has been recorded in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. Despite its scientific name it is not found in Africa. It is a shiny brown weasel with a white or cream belly with a brown stripe down the chest. Little is known about the species, but it is probably quite rare in the wild.
