History

In 2009, Greek Telecommunications giant OTE launched an IPTV service called Conn-x-TV. It was initially available in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Larisa & Iraklion, it is available in most of Greece.

In October 2011, Conn-x TV was re-branded as OTE TV via Conn-x. At the same time, OTE launched their long anticipated satellite service known as OTE TV via Satellite. Both services operate under the OTE TV brand and contain the same logo.

Programming

OTE TV via Conn-x includes SD channels and access to Video On Demand content, branded as OTE Cinema on Demand (previously known as FilmExpress) with movies and OTE Club On Demand (previously known as FilmClub) which includes TV series with whole seasons, music videos, documentaries, cartoons and travel guides.

OTE TV via Satellite have HD channels which are not included on OTE TV via IPTV for now, but they are in SD. The packages are two for now, the first named Family Pack includes all the channels, except from OTE TV Sports HD, OTE TV Sports 1-3 and Blue Hustler, and the second named Full Pack includes all the channels.

After many delays "OTE TV" officially started broadcasting on October 17, 2011, through Eutelsat 9A at 9E. Until October 17, OTE TV was partially tested by subscribers, as a pilot service. It relied on Conn-x TV's channels due to an ongoing legal matter involving the carriage of the national terrestrial stations in Greece.
