Conor Pope (born 3 August 1968[1]) is an Irish journalist who works on The Irish Times website and has a particular interest in consumer protection. He writes the Pricewatch column and blog in The Irish Times as well as a segment of the same name on The Ray D'Arcy Show.[2][3] He was one of the panelists on the consumer-related game show Highly Recommended. In 2009 he presented Living Lightly, a consumer lifestyle programme, on RTÉ.

Born in Galway, he moved with his family to County Cork when he was six and they returned when he was thirteen.[4] He studied English and Philosophy at University College Galway. Upon graduating, he took a programming course in FÁS, then worked at the Connacht Tribune as placement.[4] After working there, he taught English in Spain for two years, then completed a Masters in journalism at UCG, working his placement for that course in the Connacht Tribune. In 1996 he joined The Irish Times, becoming involved with the papers' website.[4] He has also written a book advising consumers how to spend money wisely.[5]
