The Creditsafe Group is a multinational organisation providing business intelligence and credit information. Founded in 1997, the company has expanded and now has operations across Europe. With offices in Sweden, the UK, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium, the company now employs over 500 employees and has a client base in excess of 50,000 organisations. (1)

History

  • The company was founded in Norway before launching in Gothenburg in Sweden in 1998. This subsidiary of the Creditsafe Group now provides business information to over 8,000 companies and employs approximately 70 staff. (2)
  • The Creditsafe Group entered the UK market in 2000 (4) and set up operations in London. These operations were relocated to Caerphilly, South Wales in 2002 with the Group’s European Service Centre established in Cardiff Bay in 2006. The UK operation now has a customer base in excess of 25,000 companies, employing over 160 staff. (2)
  • Creditsafe expanded into the French market late in 2006 with offices in Roubaix near Lille and has already enjoyed success with over 3,000 customers.(2)
  • The Irish arm of the company was launched in 2008 with an office in Dublin and already has a customer portfolio in excess of 1500 (3).
  • In 2008 the Creditsafe Group expanded into the Benelux market. Directly selling into both the Netherlands and Belgium from offices in The Hague, employing over 50 staff, the operation had over 2,000 customers by the end of its first year of operation. (2)(8)
  • In 2009 Creditsafe launched Creditnet, an international company reporting tool with access to over 33 million company records across 20 European countries. (5)
  • The latest addition to the Creditsafe Group came in 2010 when the Group launched into the German marketplace with offices situated in Berlin. (7)

Creditsafe Data

The Creditsafe database holds information on 4.4 million UK companies and 450,000 Irish companies and the data within Creditsafe UK company reports is sourced directly from Companies House, The Registry Trust and The London & Edinburgh Gazette and is updated daily. (7)
