Crocodile River (Mpumalanga), also referred to as Crocodile River (East), (or Afrikaans: Krokodilrivier (Oos)). Originates North of Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, South Africa, in the Steenkampsberg Mountains. Downstream of Kwena Dam, the Crocodile River winds through the Schoemanskloof up to Montrose Falls. It flows eastwards past Nelspruit and into the Komati River at Komatipoort. The Elands River, a tributary to the Crocodile, rises on the grassland plateau of the Drakenberg Mountains near the town of Machadodorp. The Crocodile River in Mpumalanga has a catchment area of 10 446 km2. It flows through the Nelspruit industrial area, the lowveld agricultural area and the Kruger National Park. The decrease in flow of the river is probably due to abstractions for irrigated fruit farming.
Where the river borders the Kruger Park, it also borders the Leopard Creek golf course, designed by Gary Player.
