Daniel Bell-Drummond (born 4 August 1993, Lewisham, London) is an English first-class cricketer, who plays for Kent County Cricket Club and England Under-19 cricket team.

Bell-Drummond was spotted by Kent as a seven year old and has since progressed through the county system, scoring his first century for the under-10 side aged just seven.[1] Bell-Drummond has played for England at youth levels U-15, U-17 and U-19. Bell-Drummond had represented Millfield School, that had nurtured such players as Craig Kieswetter and James Hildreth, before signing a three-contract with Kent County Cricket Club at the age of 17.[2][3] Prior to signing his professional contract Bell-Drummond received the 'John Aitken Gray Trophy' having been named as Kent Academy Scholar of the year.[4][5]

England Youth Cricket

Bell-Drummond played for England U-19 in a series against Sri Lanka in 2010 and made his youth Test debut on 21 July 2010 in a 199 run defeat against Sri Lanka at the County Ground, Northampton. He made 32 and 1 opening the batting with Yorkshire CCC youngster Joe Root.[6] In the following test Bell-Drummond helped England level the test series with an unbeaten 88 in a six wicket victory.[7]

In July 2011 Bell-Drummond played in a one-day series against South Afica U-19s. He top scored with 86 in the first match at Edgbaston with 11 boundaries including 1 six, however it was not enough to avoid defeat.[8] In the second game of the series he again top scored with another half century, recording a score of 68, which levelled the series at 1-1.[9] Bell-Drummond also hit half centuries in the fifth and seventh youth ODI's recording scores of 72 and 54 respectively.[10][11] England lost the series against South Africa U-19s 2-4. Bell-Drummond was the leading run scorer for England scoring 329 runs in seven innings at an average of 47.00.[12]

First-Class Cricket

Bell-Drummond made his first-class debut for Kent at the age of 17 in a University match against Loughborough MCCU and made a fluent 80 from 103 balls, an innings which included 11 fours and two sixes. He also shared a stand of 116 with team mate Sam Northeast.[13] On 31 July, Bell-Drummond made his one-day debut in a victorious Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Worcestershire. He made an aggressive 42 from 30 balls including 7 boundaries and 2 sixes before falling to Saeed Ajmal.[14][15]
