Contents

Overview

Dark Moon Digest has been welcomed as a new outlet for authors of horror fiction.[1] Along with short stories, the magazine also features book reviews, serial novellas, flash fiction, comics, and—up until recently—poetry, articles and movie reviews (which have since been moved to strictly e-mag material). In addition to the digest, Dark Moon Digest maintains a frequently updated blog called Last Writes that contains articles, reviews, writing games and polls. Recently, it hosted an unofficial retro-Stephen King month, wherein writers contributed reviews and essays concerning King's work.[2] The editor-in-chief is Stan Swanson.

Dark Eclipse

Along with the quarterly, Dark Moon Digest also publishes a monthly e-magazine titled Dark Eclipse featuring short stories, poems, reviews, and articles. Some of the returning columns include Weaponology, which involves a lesson on horror weapons; The Writer’s Corner, which provides tips on the craft of writing; and The Cellar Door, which analyzes different monsters of horror fiction. The e-magazine also reprints classical fiction and poetry now in the public domain. It is edited by Lori Michelle.
