Debaj - Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber has been established in 2003 when Babcock Borsig Service GmbH and Al Jaber Group for Constructions and Energy Projects founded a joint-venture company in order to develop their presence in Qatar market.

Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber W.L.L, Doha, Qatar is a Joint-venture company established in Doha, Qatar in 2003 by two main regional players: Babcock Borsig Service GmbH, active in the Gulf since 1971 through Deutsche Babcock Middle East (FZE) [1], Al Jaber Group by Al Jaber & Partners for Constructions and Energy Projects [2] together with a local Qatari company – International Projects Development Co.[3] The company current name is an acronym composed by the initial letters of the words, which combine and merge the names of the two main co-venturers.[4]

Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber was established in order to develop further more the already relevant presence of Deutsche Babcock Middle East in Qatar, coordinating power station technology and environmental engineering service.[5] As the business contracts started quite fast at high level [6], Debaj maintained and developed successfully its active role even during the passage of property of Babcock Borsig Service GmbH from Deutsche Beteiligungs AG [7] to Bilfinger Berger.[8] As per its business volume, among the subsidiary companies of Deutsche Babcock Middle East is one of the main joint-venture [9], and it plays a key role in the Deutsche Babcock Middle East rise to be among the top contractors in the Gulf area.

Debaj technical role became soon relevant in desalination plants jobs: the company management usually actively participates to technical seminars [10] and its interventions during congress about rehabilitation and uprating are also quoted in scientific studies.[11]

Today Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber manages around 2000 highly specialized manpower and employees.[12] Beyond its commitment and success on business, Deutsche Babcock Al Jaber is quite active also helping and sustaining its own employees in Qatar as per its humanitarian sponsorship to the Doha Modern Indian School.[13]
