Debby Dahl Edwardson

Debby Dahl Edwardson is an author of young adult fiction from Barrow, Alaska. In 2011 she was a finalist for the National Book Award in the young adult category.[1] She is also the president of the North Slope Borough School Board[2] and an instructor at Iḷisaġvik College.[3]

She grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota and received a degree in English from Colorado College.[4]

Personal life

She and her husband George Edwardson have seven children.[5]

Books

  • Whale Snow (2003).
  • Blessing's Bead (2009) was named in the American Library Association's 2011 list of Best Fiction for Young Adults[6] and was named in the Top 10 Historical Fiction for Youth of 2010 by Booklist.[7]
  • My Name is Not Easy (2010) is the story of three Native Alaskan children who are sent to boarding school.[8]
