Dentheletae (Greek: Δενθελῆται) is the name of a Thracian tribe in the upper Strymon, they are mentioned by Polybius. They lived in the area of Sofia, called Dentheletica[1], with towns as Pautalia[2], bordering the Agrianes and Maedi. They built fortifications around Stara Planina in the 1st century BC[citation needed] and were later allies of the Romans. Licinus Crassus[citation needed] attacked the Denteleti in 28-29BC. Raids[citation needed] in Dardania 16-13BC marked the end of the Denteleti. The Bastarnae were enemies.[citation needed]
